A time that led me to develop an interest in learning was when my mom took me to the,Fine Arts Museum in Boston, during the summer between Elementary School and Middle School. Prior to that I had regarded History as an entirely dry topic, devoid of fun. However when I saw the artifacts of long dead civilizations it awakened in me  an incredible interest. I derived a sense of aesthetic pleasure from looking at the  symmetry of a Greek statue or the beautiful intricacies of a Japanese painting.  This sense of aesthetic pleasure made me wonder about the civilizations that could produce such artistic wonders .I did not seriously start studying history until High School, but I can say with certainty  that the beginning of my interest in history can be traced back to that trip to the Boston Art Museum.
